The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Keyed Shaft, StageA 2 - 04.77:1 Ratio, StageB 2 - 07.56:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates a refined 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
Several enhancements distinguish the EVO Shifter from its predecessors. The dog gear now features four dogs on each face, enhancing the strength and durability of the design. The use of AMPCO® 18 Bronze for the dog gear material provides added lubricity, ensuring smooth shifting operations. A robust shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing further contributes to the gearbox's reliability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction. Users have the autonomy to select their preferred high and low ratios, with the ability to interchange them as needed.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, allowing for shifting during various operational states such as acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox is designed for easy assembly and disassembly, with features that ensure correct gear orientation. It can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2"x1" box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes.
The gearbox requires proper greasing for optimal performance and longevity. A break-in period of 30 minutes without grease is recommended to allow the gear teeth to wear in, followed by periodic application of grease to the spur gears. The AMPCO® bronze dog gear does not require greasing. The encoder ratio for programming purposes is 3:1 between the Output Shaft and Encoder Shaft for the two-stage version.
