The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Keyed Shaft, StageA 2 - 16.37:1 Ratio, StageB 2 - 04.77:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates a refined 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
Several enhancements distinguish this model from previous iterations. The dog gear now features four dogs per face, enhancing durability by providing more material around the gear screw. The use of AMPCO® 18 Bronze for the dog gear material offers properties akin to stainless steel, with added lubricity for smoother shifting. A robust shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing is included, and the input stage employs 32 DP gears with a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction.
The gearbox allows users to independently select high and low ratios, with the ability to swap ratios as needed. It supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder. Weight reduction features have been integrated into the gears and plates, and the design permits easy disassembly and reassembly without concern for gear orientation. The gearbox can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2"x1" box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder for shifting. This mechanism ensures that a robot can continue operating in Ratio A even if air pressure is lost. The gearbox requires proper greasing for optimal performance and longevity, with specific instructions for break-in and maintenance provided.
