The AndyMark EVO Slim 16.37:1 Ratio, 3.875in Shaft Length is a high-performance, lightweight gearbox designed for competition robots. It offers a robust solution for creating efficient drive trains, sharing many components with the EVO Shifter, including weight-relieving features, steel gears, and aluminum plates. This gearbox is provided in kit form and is capable of accommodating up to three motors, although motors are not included.
The EVO Slim utilizes a 15 Tooth 32DP pinion gear, which is included and does not require a key. For those who may find the installation challenging, it is recommended to purchase a motor with the pinion pre-installed. The gearbox is compatible with both CIM and NEO motors, with specific installation procedures for each. When using a NEO motor, a 3-ton arbor press is necessary due to the interference fit required. For CIM motors, the pinion may either slip or press fit, depending on manufacturing tolerances. In both cases, the application of red Loctite 271 is advised to ensure secure attachment.
The gearbox supports the integration of either the E4T Optical Encoder Kit or the SRX Mag Encoder, requiring a 3D printed mount plate. Future iterations will include appropriate holes in the motor plates to accommodate an Encoder Mount Pad. When using the SRX Mag Encoder, additional mounting hardware is necessary.
Note: Ensure proper safety measures are followed during installation, particularly when using the arbor press and applying Loctite.
The gearbox is shipped in kit form, not assembled, with hardware to accept 3 motors. Please note motors are not included with these gearboxes.
