The AndyMark Flyer Overdrive Gearbox, Sport Gearbox Input, 1.33:1 / 1:1.33 is an innovative gearbox designed for versatility in competitive robotics. It uniquely offers both overdrive and underdrive configurations, allowing the output shaft to spin faster or slower than the input shaft. This dual functionality is achieved through the use of gears with a 1/2 inch hex bore, enabling users to select their preferred configuration without additional purchases.
The gearbox features a short 1/2 inch hex output shaft, which can be replaced with any Toughbox output shaft for customization. The design allows for easy integration with various robot frames, thanks to its "wings" that fit over 1 inch wide extrusions. This makes it an ideal choice for applications such as roller intakes when paired with compatible wheels.
Three hardware options are available for input: CIM/NEO, Falcon, and Sport Gearbox. The Sport Gearbox option provides an additional stage of reduction and secure mounting, making it suitable for mechanisms like climbers. Users can also opt for a no gears version, allowing them to supply their own gears for custom ratios. The gearbox is compatible with any two 20DP 1/2 inch wide, 1/2 inch hex bore gears totaling 70 teeth.
Note: Ensure proper support and retention of the shaft with collar clamps to prevent mechanical failure.
