The Pololu 227:1 Metal Gearmotor 25Dx71L mm MP 12V w/ 48 CPR Encoder is a sophisticated component designed for precision and efficiency in various applications. This gearmotor integrates a medium-power, 12 V brushed DC motor with a robust 226.76:1 metal spur gearbox. It features an advanced 48 CPR quadrature encoder on the motor shaft, delivering an impressive 10,884.47 counts per revolution of the gearbox’s output shaft, ensuring high-resolution feedback for precise control.
The gearmotor is cylindrical, with a diameter slightly under 25 mm, and includes a D-shaped output shaft that is 4 mm in diameter, extending 12.5 mm from the gearbox's face plate. This design facilitates easy integration into a wide range of mechanical systems. The encoder utilizes a two-channel Hall effect sensor to detect the rotation of a magnetic disk on the motor shaft, providing accurate speed and direction information through square wave outputs.
This gearmotor is part of a versatile family of cylindrical brushed DC gearmotors, available in various gear ratios and power levels, allowing for easy substitution to meet changing design requirements. The motor and encoder assembly can be obtained separately, and versions without the encoder are also available, offering flexibility in application.
Note: The Hall sensor requires an input voltage between 3.5 and 20 V and draws a maximum of 10 mA.
