Works at first try, following tutorial. I tried other wireless xceivers with no success. These work without a hassle.

433 MHz module works!
The documentation is poor, but not the worse I've seen. There is an AT command set (distant relative of the HAYES modem AT command set) but you can't seem to enter command mode with what the docs claim, You CAN, fortunately, enter command mode by bringing the "Set" pin low as the docs say. Once you issue a few very simple commands, the modem, in fact, works perfectly. I was actually surprised at how easy it was. My multiwii (also from robotshop) quadcopter is now happily reporting telemetry to home base even at range. It's wonderful.

Excellent product very simple to interface via the RX/TX and as a very low consumption for a 433mhz on short distance.
