Great reed switch, just be careful as they are fragile.
Instead of purchasing a commercial magnetic on/off reed switch for my marine application I used RobotShop's reed switches along with Pololu's 16A Big Pushbutton Power Switch (RB-Pol-378) and their Mini Pushbutton Power Switch (RB-Pol-345). It worked out very well, but in the process I broke 3 of the very fragile reed switches. A word of caution... When working with the reed switch you must be very careful not to bend it's leads without clamping the wire directly beside the very breakable glass reed casing. Also, care should be taken with whatever method you use to support the switch as to not put any strain the leads or casing.

Great magnetic field switch. Be careful with the glass, use needle nose pliers when bending the leads to avoid breakage. Good price for 5 pieces.
