Rigid construction, flexible use.

I think the channel makes a great structural foundation and plan to keep some around. Integrates well with the other Actobotics parts (with the exception of the vertical servo mounts) as and "Erector Set" for robotics. Also in addition to the holes integrating with other Actobotics parts, all the holes in the channel reduce the weight, while the channel is still rigid. I did find the following solutions: - The channel is a bit pricey but cuts easily in a (wood shop) saw with a non-ferrous blade. It is cheaper per inch in longer sections. - The holes didn't line up with where I needed a servo to be mounted. I mounted the channel in a cross slide vise drill press and converted some of the adjacent holes into slots. Then I could adjust the servo mounts over the distance. You could do the same with Dremmel. - The large holes are 0.5" which fit the servo shaft hub, or other through shaft of 0.5" diameter. However I wanted the 0.5" bearing mounted in the hole and the shaft tended to rub on the channel hole, so I simply enlarged the appropriate 0.5" hole in the channel. - I needed to mount the channel rigidly perpendicular to surface. After some head scratching I selected an Actobotics 90" Quad hub Mount C. I used the through holes to mount it flush on my surface then used the threaded holes on the side to mount the channel.
