The AndyMark Climber in a Box w/o Extrusion, Stage 1 is a versatile and cost-effective climbing solution designed for FRC end game challenges. Developed in collaboration with FRC Team 3940 CyberTooth for the 2020/2021 Infinite Recharge season, this climber has been rigorously tested with full-weight FRC robots, ensuring reliability in competitive settings. Available in single and two-stage configurations, it elevates team performance with its innovative 'spring out, winch back' powertrain strategy. The kit includes a Hook Kit, a 1.5" to 1.0" Tubing Bearing Kit, and a 1.5" Winch Kit, but does not include a motor or gearbox. It is compatible with various planetary gearboxes featuring a 2" bolt circle mounting pattern and a 2" long 1/2" hex output shaft. The climber's design incorporates durable 608 bearings and custom molded plastic components, facilitating a smooth telescoping mechanism without the need for 3D printed parts. Pre-cut to 30" lengths, the aluminum tubes require no additional cutting, simplifying assembly and installation. This product is available without aluminum tubes to reduce shipping costs for teams with local access to extrusion.
