The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Keyed Shaft, StageA 2 Stage - 07.56:1 Ratio, StageB 2 Stage - 10.86:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed for use with two CIM or NEO motors, offering flexibility in motor input. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed. It features a robust design with a 4-tooth dog shifting method, enhancing strength and durability. The dog gear is crafted from AMPCO® 18 Bronze, providing smooth shifting due to its lubricity. A new shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing further strengthens the gearbox.
The EVO Shifter allows users to select high and low ratios independently, providing versatility in performance. It supports two or three interior stages, with an optional third stage offering additional ratio choices. The gearbox is compatible with various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder. Weight reduction features have been incorporated into the gears and plates, ensuring a lightweight yet sturdy construction. The gearbox can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2"x1" box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes.
The shifting mechanism utilizes a pneumatic method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder. This allows for seamless shifting even during acceleration or deceleration. In the event of air pressure loss, the gearbox defaults to "Ratio A," ensuring continued operation. The gearbox requires proper greasing for optimal performance and longevity, with a recommended break-in period before applying grease. The encoder ratio for programming is 3:1 between the Output Shaft and Encoder Shaft in the two-stage version.
Note: Ensure proper installation of the pinion gear, especially when using a NEO motor, as it requires a 3-ton arbor press due to the interference fit. Follow the NEO Press Fit Pinion Guide for safety and optimal performance.
