The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Keyed Shaft, StageA 2 - 22.67:1 Ratio, StageB 2 - 07.56:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed with an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed.
Significant improvements have been made over previous models, including the use of AMPCO® 18 Bronze for the dog gear, which provides enhanced strength and lubricity. The shift block assembly has been reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, contributing to the gearbox's robustness. The input stage features 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction. Users have the ability to independently select high and low ratios, providing greater customization.
The gearbox incorporates a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder for shifting. This allows for gear changes even during acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox is designed to be mounted on an AM14U family chassis or a 2"x1" box tube frame, using existing mounting plate holes. Weight ranges from 2.9 to 3.2 pounds for the two-stage version and 3.5 pounds for the three-stage version, excluding motors.
For optimal performance, it is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease to allow the gear teeth to wear in, followed by periodic application of Red Tacky Grease to the spur gears. The gearbox includes a US Digital encoder and a pneumatic cylinder, enhancing its functionality and ease of use.
Note: Ensure proper installation of pinion gears, especially when using a NEO motor, as a 3-ton arbor press is required due to the interference fit. Follow the NEO Press Fit Pinion Guide for safety and optimal performance.
