The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 - 25.90:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 - 08.63:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors, and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
Several improvements distinguish this model from its predecessors. The dog gear now features four dogs on each face, enhancing the strength and durability of the design. The use of AMPCO® 18 Bronze for the dog gear material provides added lubricity, ensuring smooth shifting operations. A robust shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing further enhances the gearbox's reliability. The input stage employs 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction. Users have the liberty to select their preferred high and low ratios, with the option to interchange them as needed.
The gearbox supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder. It features aggressive weight reduction techniques, and the cluster gears are designed for easy assembly and disassembly without concern for gear orientation. The gearbox can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2"x1" box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder for shifting. This allows for shifting while a robot is in motion, ensuring continuous operation even if air pressure is lost. The gearbox requires proper greasing for optimal performance and longevity, with a recommended break-in period before applying grease. The encoder ratio for two-stage versions is 3:1 between the Output Shaft and Encoder Shaft.
