The AndyMark EVO Slim 10.86:1 Ratio, 3.875in Shaft Length is a high-performance, lightweight gearbox designed for competition robots. It offers a robust solution for creating efficient drive trains, sharing many components with the EVO Shifter, including weight-relieving features, steel gears, and aluminum plates. This gearbox is provided in kit form and is capable of accommodating up to three motors, although motors are not included.
The gearbox utilizes a 15 Tooth 32DP pinion gear, which does not require a key. For those who may find the installation challenging, it is recommended to purchase a motor with the pinion pre-installed. When using a NEO motor, a 3-ton arbor press is necessary due to the interference fit. For CIM motors, the pinion may either slip or require pressing, depending on manufacturing tolerances. In both cases, red Loctite 271 should be applied to ensure a secure fit.
The EVO Slim is compatible with either the E4T Optical Encoder Kit or the SRX Mag Encoder, requiring a 3D printed mount plate. Future versions will include appropriate holes in the motor plates for the Encoder Mount Pad. When using the SRX Mag Encoder, additional mounting hardware is necessary.
