The AndyMark EVO Slim for West Coast Drive 7.56:1 Ratio is a high-performance, lightweight gearbox designed to enhance the drive trains of competition robots. This gearbox is part of the EVO Slim series, which shares several components with the EVO Shifter, including steel gears and aluminum plates that contribute to its robust construction. It is specifically engineered to be compatible with the AndyMark West Coast Drive Chassis, providing a reliable solution for competitive robotics applications.
The gearbox is designed to accommodate either two NEO or CIM motors, although it is important to note that motors are not included with the gearbox. The EVO Slim is shipped in kit form, allowing for customization and assembly according to specific requirements. The gearbox includes a 15 Tooth 32DP pinion gear, which is integral to its operation. For those using a NEO motor, a 3-ton arbor press is necessary to install the pinion due to its interference fit. Alternatively, when using a CIM motor, the pinion may be installed as either a slip fit or a press fit, with the application of red Loctite 271 to ensure secure attachment.
The EVO Slim for CIM also supports encoder options, accepting either the E4T Optical Encoder Kit or the SRX Mag Encoder. This requires a 3D printed mount plate, and additional mounting hardware is necessary when using the SRX Mag Encoder. The gearbox's design ensures compatibility with future enhancements, as provisions for encoder mounting will be integrated into the motor plates.
Note: Proper installation of the pinion gear is critical for safe operation, and it is recommended to follow the NEO Press Fit Pinion Guide or apply red Loctite 271 as specified for CIM motors.
