The Digilent SBX USRP Transceiver Daughterboard is a versatile wide bandwidth transceiver designed to deliver up to 100 mW of output power with a typical noise figure of 5 dB. It features independent local oscillators for both the receive and transmit chains, enabling dual-band operation. This daughterboard is MIMO capable and offers 40 MHz of bandwidth, making it suitable for applications that require access to a broad range of frequencies from 400 MHz to 4400 MHz.
The SBX is particularly well-suited for various communication applications, including WiFi, WiMax, S-band transceivers, and 2.4 GHz ISM band transceivers. It includes two quadrature frontends, one for transmission and one for reception, and defaults to direct conversion. The device can also operate in low IF mode through the use of lo_offset with uhd::tune_request_t, providing flexibility in its application.
The transceiver supports full-duplex operation on different transmit and receive frequencies, thanks to its independent receive and transmit local oscillators and synthesizers. Additionally, it can be configured to use Integer-N tuning for improved spur performance with uhd::tune_request_t. The frequency range of the SBX spans from 400 MHz to 4 GHz, and it is equipped with transmit antennas (TX/RX) and receive antennas (TX/RX or RX2), ensuring comprehensive coverage for various communication needs.
