The Digilent USB-ERB24; Electromechanical Relay; 8CH is a robust relay interface device designed for demanding data acquisition applications. It features 24 channels of single-pole double-throw (SPDT) Form C electromechanical relays, which are directly controlled by digital I/O lines. The device is housed in a durable chassis, suitable for mounting on a DIN rail or a bench, ensuring stability and protection in various environments.
This relay interface supports configurations as two banks of eight and two banks of four, providing flexibility in its application. It includes onboard switches that allow users to configure the logic polarity and power-on state for each relay group, with the ability to read back switch settings through software. The USB-ERB24 is equipped with screw terminals for field wiring connections, offering three connections to each relay: normally open, normally closed, and common.
The device is powered by an external 9 V regulated power supply, which is included, and supports USB out and power out connections. This feature enables the powering and controlling of multiple MCC USB devices in a daisy-chain configuration from a single external power source and USB port. Software support is extensive, including DAQami for data logging, visualization, and signal generation, with drivers available for popular programming languages and applications such as Visual C++, Visual C#, Visual Basic .NET, DASYLab, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Linux, and Python.
