The DS1100 Programmable RS232 Controller /w Power Adapter and PoE targets serial-over-IP and serial control applications. Built around the same cost-saving ASIC as a EM500 "MiniMo" module, the DS1100 offers a single-channel RS232 port. The device can be powered via its power jack, pin9 of the DB9 (serial port) connector, or the available power-over-Ethernet option.
There are three LEDs on the device's front: green and red main status LEDs, and a yellow Ethernet link LED. Each DS1100 is supplied with the DIN rail and wall mounting plates. The DS1100 comes preloaded with a full-featured serial-over-IP (SoI) application that turns the DS1100 into a powerful serial over IP (SoI) device (a.k.a. "device server").
