I was amazed by the capabilities of the Edison v2.0 bots. We ordered 11 of them, so we were able to get them for $37 a piece. The bar code programming really eases the students into the idea of giving instructions to computers, and the free lesson plans have so much activities that you can do with the students. We only had 3 days to cover the material, so I had to pick and choose, but it's a good problem to have when you have too many lessons to choose from! The robot has so much capabilities, and the programming software (EdScratch) has such a simple approach that allows students who have never encountered programming before to jump right in. My students were programming long strands of codes by the end of the second day! Such a great robot. Thank you for making such a great tool for education.

Nephew Loved It
We bought Edison for our 15 year old nephew who is impossible to shop for, expecting that it would take some time for him to learn about Edison and how he worked before he liked. When he opened the package, he asked if it was like a Roomba (he is fascinated with our Roomba), and my husband said "Yes, but it doesn't vacuum." Obviously what our nephew is fascinated by about the Roomba is how it navigates around obstacles and bouncing around, which Edison also does. We're hoping that he will not just play with it but learn with it.
