Provides accurate longitude, latitude, time, altitude
Supports I2C and UART output for broad compatibility
The Gravity: GNSS GPS BeiDou Positioning Module w/ RTC - I2C&UART integrates satellite positioning capabilities with a real-time clock (RTC). It automatically acquires satellite time based on a preset calibration period, ensuring precise calibration of the onboard RTC chip. This process effectively mitigates time errors that may arise during prolonged operation or accidental disruptions.
The system conserves power by automatically disconnecting the GNSS chip after calibration, thereby reducing overall power consumption compared to GNSS-only solutions. Users can also configure the module to function continuously as a positioning device, providing accurate data on longitude, latitude, time, and altitude.
The module supports two data output types: I2C and UART, and is compatible with Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and other mainstream control devices. It is particularly suitable for applications requiring extended operational hours and high-precision timekeeping, such as astronomical observation timers, NTP servers, and outdoor wireless sensor time synchronization.
This module offers a significant improvement over traditional GNSS modules by incorporating the ability to deactivate the GNSS when not in use, leaving only the RTC module active to maintain time, thus achieving lower power consumption.
