The Kitronik USB RGB LED Strip w/ Pattern Selector is a board designed for low-power lighting applications, such as mood lamps, edge-lit signs, and accent lights. Its discreet size and straightforward layout make it ideal for creating custom lighting enclosures.

The board features a micro USB power connector and is designed to meet the power requirements of a computer USB port (under 100 mA), allowing for convenient powering from a computer, laptop, or suitable power supply. The PCB measures approximately 80mm in length and 8mm in width, with a single M3 mounting hole and a flat underside for easy securing within custom enclosures. The USB connector projects approximately 2mm from the end of the PCB.

An end-mounted switch is used to cycle between lighting patterns and turn off the LEDs. A remote switch can be connected in parallel with the PCB switch, via the provided pads, for remote mounting within an enclosure. The remote switch should be momentary and normally open. Using a non-momentary switch may result in unpredictable operation. The board features five full-color RGB LEDs mounted on its centerline, driven by a small onboard chip pre-programmed to deliver four patterns, which can be selected by pressing the button to cycle through them.
