The Matter & Form 3: Versatile High-Resolution 3D Scanner w/ ChromaSpec Technology is designed to scan a wide range of object sizes with metrology-level accuracy and resolution. Equipped with ChromaSpec technology, it captures both the geometry and color of objects using the full spectrum of visible light. This 3D scanner is the first to feature fully onboard software that is compatible with any modern web browser and operating system, allowing for use with a variety of devices including those running Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge.
The device offers a seamless experience by connecting to networks via WIFI or Ethernet and hosting its own software on a built-in web server. It eliminates the need for installations, cloud services, and subscriptions, providing a wire-free and internet-independent scanning process. Additionally, it boasts internal storage for scan projects and supports edge computing with integrated programming tools. Users can develop custom computer vision and scanning projects with the support of open-source projects and a full API.
The Matter & Form 3 stands out for its ability to handle nearly any scanning task, thanks to its powerful projected light and high-resolution cameras. It is an ideal tool for a variety of applications, from reverse-engineering mechanical components to capturing intricate details for 3D printing. The device ChromaSpec algorithm minimizes the need for scan sprays by effectively processing different-colored areas of the object, streamlining the scanning process.
Furthermore, Matter & Form 3 is not only versatile in its scanning capabilities but also serves as an edge computing device, allowing users to create and run their own 3D and 2D computer vision programs. It is equipped with cutting-edge optical technology, including a MEMS mirror-based DLP projector and Sony optical sensors, and is powered by its own CPU and integrated GPU. The device also features a built-in 16GB memory for storing and managing scan projects.
