  • Integrated rechargeable LiPo battery
  • Easy snap-on integration with sensors
  • USB-C programming compatibility
  • Onboard ESP32 reset and bootloader buttons

The MyoWare 2.0 ESP32 Wireless Shield for Muscle Sensor Data Transmission is an innovative device designed to capture readings from the MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor and transmit the data wirelessly using the ESP32-WROOM module. It features a built-in lithium polymer battery that provides remote power to both the muscle sensor and the ESP32 module, ensuring operation without the need for a direct power connection. The shield is designed for easy integration, with snap connectors and low-profile pogo pins that allow for seamless stacking on the MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor.

Programming the board is facilitated through a USB type C port and a CH340 USB-to-serial converter, compatible with the Arduino IDE for serial programming. The board includes a reset button for the ESP32 and incorporates various protection circuits, including ESD protection diodes for the USB data lines, a resettable PTC fuse, and ideal diodes for the VUSB and VBATT nets.

The included 40mAh lithium polymer battery ensures portability and can be recharged via the USB Type C connector. The charging circuit is designed for a safe charge rate, and the board's power regulation maintains a consistent 3.3V output. Users have the flexibility to select their power source and control the board's power state with onboard switches. Additionally, the board features a manual bootloader mode button for the ESP32, which can also serve as a general-purpose button.

For expansion, the board offers two horizontal Qwiic connectors with 2.2kΩ pull-up resistors and standard 0.1"-spaced plated through holes to break out some of the ESP32 module pins. Status LEDs are included for power, charge status, user LED, and envelope signals. The board also provides jumpers for various functions, including power, USB shield, reference, raw EMG, envelope, and I2C pull-up resistors, making it versatile for educational purposes or adding a unique element to projects such as a Halloween costume.

The MyoWare 2.0 ecosystem is a collaborative effort with Brian Kaminski from Advancer Technologies, featuring shields that effortlessly connect with the MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor. This all-in-one electromyography sensor is compatible with Arduino and allows for the measurement of a muscle's electrical activity without the need for soldering.

Important: The MyoWare and the Wireless Shield are not medical devices and are not intended for use in the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of disease in humans or animals.
