The Pololu Stepper Motor w/ 18Cm Lead Screw: Bipolar, 200 Steps/Rev, 42×38mm, 2.8V, 1.7 A/Phase is a NEMA 17-size hybrid bipolar stepping motor designed for precision linear motion applications. It features an integrated 18 cm threaded rod as its output shaft, transforming it into a linear actuator capable of open-loop positioning. The motor achieves a step angle of 1.8° per step, translating to 200 steps per revolution, and each phase draws 1.7 A at 2.8 V, providing a holding torque of 3.7 kg-cm.

The motor's lead screw extends 18 cm from the motor's face, facilitating linear movement without the need for additional shaft couplers or set screws. This design is particularly advantageous for applications in home-built 3D printers and CNC machines, where precise linear motion is essential. The included copper alloy traveling nut, equipped with a mounting flange and four threaded holes for M3 screws, moves 40 µm per full step, with the potential for finer resolution through microstepping.
