The Pololu 10:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor MP 6V w/ 12 CPR Encoder, Side Connector is a compact brushed DC motor featuring a robust metal gearbox with a cross-section of 10×12 mm. It is equipped with a 9 mm long, 3 mm diameter D-shaped output shaft. This gearmotor integrates a two-channel incremental Hall effect encoder, which detects the rotation of a magnetic disk on the motor shaft's rear protrusion. The encoder provides a resolution of 12 counts per revolution, enhancing precision in motion control applications.
The encoder is connected via a 6-pin JST SH-style male connector, compatible with corresponding cables and connector boards. The side connector orientation is perpendicular to the motor, facilitating versatile installation options. The motor operates at a medium power level with a 6V supply and features precious metal brushes, ensuring efficient performance and durability.
The gear ratio of 9.96:1, combined with brass plates, allows for a no-load speed of 2200 RPM while drawing 70 mA. The motor's stall torque is extrapolated at 0.11 kg⋅cm, with a stall current of 0.67 A. The quadrature outputs A and B are digital signals that indicate motor direction and speed, with built-in hysteresis to prevent signal errors near transition points.
