The Pololu 15:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor HP 6V w/ 12 CPR Encoder, Back Connector is a compact brushed DC motor featuring a robust metal gearbox with a cross section of 10×12 mm. It is equipped with a 9 mm long, 3 mm diameter D-shaped output shaft. This gearmotor integrates a two-channel incremental Hall effect encoder, which detects the rotation of a magnetic disk located on the rear extension of the motor shaft. The encoder provides a resolution of 12 counts per revolution, utilizing both edges of both channels for precise motion detection.

The encoder is connected via a 6-pin JST SH-style male connector, compatible with corresponding cables and connector boards. The back connector orientation aligns parallel to the motor, facilitating streamlined integration into various applications. The motor operates at a voltage of 6 V, delivering high-power performance with precious metal brushes, and achieves a no-load speed of 2000 RPM while drawing 100 mA.

The quadrature outputs, labeled A and B, are digital signals that indicate motor direction and speed through their phase and frequency. These signals are square waves with approximately 50% duty cycles and are 90° out of phase.
