The Pololu 150:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor HP 6V w/ 12 CPR Encoder, Side Connector is a compact brushed DC motor equipped with a metal gearbox and an integrated encoder. The gearbox features a cross-section of 10×12 mm and a D-shaped output shaft measuring 9 mm in length and 3 mm in diameter. This motor is designed to provide precise control over rotational movements, making it suitable for applications requiring high torque and accuracy.
The motor includes a two-channel incremental Hall effect encoder that detects the rotation of a magnetic disk attached to the motor shaft. This encoder offers a resolution of 12 counts per revolution (CPR) of the motor shaft, which can be adjusted by the gearbox reduction factor to achieve higher counts per revolution at the gearbox output. The encoder is connected via a 6-pin JST SH-style male connector, with the side connector orientation being perpendicular to the motor.
The motor terminals are accessible through specific connector pins, allowing for flexible operation by alternating the polarity of the power supply. The encoder's sensors are powered through designated pins, and the quadrature outputs provide digital signals that indicate motor direction and speed. The built-in hysteresis in the sensors' comparators ensures reliable performance by preventing false signals during transitions.
