The Pololu 250:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor HPCB 6V w/ 12 CPR Encoder, Side Connector is a compact brushed DC motor featuring a robust metal gearbox with a cross-section of 10×12 mm. It is equipped with a 9 mm long, 3 mm diameter D-shaped output shaft. This gearmotor integrates a two-channel incremental Hall effect encoder, which detects the rotation of a magnetic disk on the motor shaft's rear protrusion. The encoder provides a resolution of 12 counts per revolution (CPR) of the motor shaft, which can be multiplied by the gearbox reduction factor to determine the counts per revolution of the gearbox output shaft.
The encoder is connected via a 6-pin JST SH-style male connector, compatible with corresponding cables and connector boards. The side connector orientation is perpendicular to the motor, ensuring versatile mounting options. The motor terminals are accessible through specific connector pins, and the motor is designed to operate in both directions by alternating the power polarity. The sensors are powered through designated pins, with the quadrature outputs providing digital signals that indicate motor direction and speed.
This gearmotor is designed for applications requiring precise control and feedback, making it suitable for robotics and automation projects. Its high-performance carbon brushes and brass-plated gearbox ensure durability and efficiency. Note: A cable is not included with this gearmotor.
