The Pololu 298:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor MP 6V w/ 12 CPR Encoder, Back Connector is a compact and efficient brushed DC motor designed for precision applications. It features a robust metal gearbox with a cross section of 10×12 mm and a D-shaped output shaft measuring 9 mm in length and 3 mm in diameter. This gearmotor is equipped with an integrated two-channel incremental Hall effect encoder, which detects the rotation of a magnetic disk located on the rear extension of the motor shaft. The encoder provides a resolution of 12 counts per revolution, enhancing the motor's precision and control capabilities.
The encoder is connected via a 6-pin JST SH-style male connector, compatible with corresponding cables and connector boards. The back connector orientation is parallel to the motor, facilitating streamlined integration into various mechanical systems. This medium-power motor operates at 6 volts and is fitted with precious metal brushes, ensuring reliable performance and longevity.
The gearmotor boasts a gear ratio of 297.92:1, constructed with durable brass plates, and delivers a no-load speed of 73 RPM while drawing 70 mA. Under stall conditions, it can exert a torque of 2.4 kg⋅cm (33 oz⋅in) with a current draw of 0.67 A. Note: A cable is not included with this gearmotor.
