The Pololu 30:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor HP 6V w/ 12 CPR Encoder, Side Connector is a compact brushed DC motor equipped with a metal gearbox. It features a gearbox cross section measuring 10×12 mm and a D-shaped output shaft with a diameter of 3 mm and a length of 9 mm. This motor is integrated with a two-channel incremental Hall effect encoder, which detects the rotation of a magnetic disk located on the rear protrusion of the motor shaft. The encoder provides a resolution of 12 counts per revolution (CPR) by counting both edges of both channels.
The encoder is equipped with a 6-pin JST SH-style male connector, compatible with corresponding cables and connector boards. The motor terminals are accessible via red and black wires, while the sensors are powered through Vcc and GND pins, which can handle a voltage range from 2.7 V to 18 V. The quadrature outputs, labeled A and B, deliver digital signals that are either driven low or pulled to Vcc through 10 kΩ pull-up resistors, depending on the motor's orientation.
This gearmotor is designed for applications requiring precise control and feedback, making it suitable for robotics and automation projects where compact size and high performance are essential.
