The Pololu 3pi+ Chassis Kit (No Motors or Electronics) provides the essential structural components required to construct a 3pi+ robot. This kit includes a chassis with an integrated ball caster and a battery holder designed for four AAA cells. It features a pair of 32×7 mm wheels equipped with silicone tires, a bumper skirt, and motor clips that facilitate the secure attachment of gear motors, allowing for operation without the bumper skirt if desired.
The chassis is specifically engineered to accommodate Micro Metal Gearmotors, offering flexibility in motor selection to tailor the robot's performance to specific needs. Users can enhance the chassis with a 3pi+ 2040 Control Board, a 3pi+ 32U4 Control Board, or other compatible electronics to complete the robot's functionality. The majority of the chassis is constructed from durable white ABS plastic, ensuring robustness and longevity.
The design includes integrated holders for the Micro Metal Gearmotors, which can be firmly secured using the provided motor clips or bumper skirt. The wheels are designed to press-fit onto the motor shafts, ensuring a reliable connection. Additionally, the chassis incorporates a rear ball caster socket, into which the included plastic ball can be easily inserted, facilitating smooth movement and stability.
