The Pololu 5:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor LP 6V w/ 12 CPR Encoder, Back Connector is a compact brushed DC motor equipped with a robust metal gearbox. It features a gearbox cross section measuring 10×12 mm and a D-shaped output shaft with a diameter of 3 mm and a length of 9 mm. This gearmotor is designed to deliver precise motion control, making it suitable for a variety of applications requiring compact and efficient power transmission.
Integrated within the motor is a two-channel incremental Hall effect encoder, which accurately detects the rotation of a magnetic disk located on the rear extension of the motor shaft. This encoder provides a resolution of 12 counts per revolution (CPR) by counting both edges of both channels, ensuring high precision in motion tracking. The encoder is equipped with a 6-pin JST SH-style male connector, compatible with corresponding cables and connector boards, facilitating easy integration into electronic systems.
The gearmotor is available with a back connector orientation, which aligns parallel to the motor, offering flexibility in installation and connectivity. This configuration is particularly advantageous for applications where space constraints are a consideration. Note: A cable is not included with this gearmotor.
