The Pololu 75:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor HPCB 6V w/ 12 CPR Encoder, Back Connector is a compact brushed DC motor equipped with a high-power 6V motor and carbon brushes, featuring a 75.81:1 gear ratio. This gearmotor includes an integrated two-channel incremental Hall effect encoder, which senses the rotation of a magnetic disk on a rear protrusion of the motor shaft, providing a resolution of 12 counts per revolution (CPR) of the motor shaft. The encoders quadrature outputs allow for precise measurement of motor speed and direction.

The motors gearbox has a cross-section of 10×12 mm and a 9 mm-long, 3 mm-diameter D-shaped output shaft. The encoder is available with a back connector, oriented parallel to the motor, and works with 6-pin JST SH-style cables and connector boards. The motor terminals are connected to the M1 and M2 connector pins, and the sensors are powered through the Vcc and GND pins. The quadrature outputs A and B are digital signals that indicate motor direction and speed.

This gearmotor is part of the Micro Metal Gearmotor family, which includes various gear ratios, motor windings, brushes, and encoder configurations. The HPCB versions, with long-life carbon brushes, offer consistent performance at their respective nominal voltages. The gearboxes use brass plates for most versions, except for the 380:1 ratio, which employs steel plates for enhanced durability.
