The RoboG4TM Gen 4 Dual Channel Brushless DC Motor Controller, 180A 60V, Hall & Encoder, USB, CAN, STO PLe (Cat3, SIL3) is designed to efficiently manage and control brushless DC motors. This advanced controller features dual channels, each capable of handling up to 180 amps with a maximum voltage of 60V. It is equipped with inputs for Hall sensors and encoders, ensuring precise motor control and feedback. The unit also supports USB and CAN communication protocols, although it does not include Ethernet connectivity.
The controller utilizes Field Oriented Control (FOC) for accurate and efficient motor commutation, supporting both trapezoidal and sinusoidal methods. It is compatible with a variety of rotor sensors, including Sin/Cos, SSI, SPI, and Resolver, to cater to diverse application requirements. The design incorporates a robust power terminal connection system and offers a comprehensive range of input and output options to maximize flexibility in system integration.
In terms of safety, the controller is designed with a Safe Torque Off (STO) feature, which is compliant with PLe, Category 3, and SIL3 safety levels, although certification is pending.
