The ServoCity Heavy-Duty Linear Servo (Position Control, 12-24V, 225lb Thrust, 0.3"/sec, 12" Stroke) is a sophisticated device engineered to respond to PWM signals, distinguishing it from traditional linear actuators that require a motor controller with feedback capabilities. This linear servo is designed for seamless integration with a servo controller, eliminating the need for additional tuning or complex wiring. Its advanced internal circuit board is compatible with a wide range of servo controllers, including wired options like the Dual Servo Driver or Servo Recorder, as well as wireless transmitters, receivers, and microcontrollers such as Arduino. The closed-loop feedback system allows precise control over the servo's position within its stroke range by interpreting signals from the servo controller. The servo's internal potentiometer provides accurate position readings, enabling the motor to adjust the extension tube's position until the desired location is achieved. The device requires a 12V input with a minimum of 5A through a male XT30 connector, which also supplies 5V to the servo controller, allowing both components to operate from a single power source. This linear servo can replace pneumatic and hydraulic systems, offering efficient linear thrust through its ACME screw mechanism, which prevents back-driving under static loads even when power is removed.
