The Sherline CNC Linear Controller w/ Stepper Motor (Metric) is a versatile and programmable device designed to control the function of a stepper motor attached to any axis of a CNC-Ready Sherline machine. This controller operates independently, allowing users to program it directly from its keypad. It facilitates complex operations by enabling multiple units to connect via an 8-pin mini-DIN cable in a 'daisy chain' configuration. This setup allows the units to signal each other to perform sequential movements without the need for a computer or a master CNC controller. Additionally, it can be integrated with existing CNC controllers for enhanced functionality.
The controller supports two separate programs, each capable of executing up to 40 operations. Users can manage various parameters such as distance, direction, speed, and program flow, including pauses or transitions to subsequent operations. The linear controller can also be combined with Sherline’s rotary controller, enabling a sequence of rotary and linear movements. This feature simplifies the execution of sophisticated tasks, such as gear cutting, without requiring extensive knowledge of CNC programming.
Included with the CNC Linear Controller are essential components such as a linear controller with a keypad, a power supply, a #23 frame size stepper motor, cables, and comprehensive instructions to facilitate setup and operation.
