The Waveshare MCP23017 IO Expansion Board, Expands 16 I/O Pins utilizes the I2C bus to convert two signal pins into sixteen I/O pins. It supports up to eight boards simultaneously, offering a total of 128 I/O pins. This board is compatible with both 3.3V and 5V voltage levels, featuring an onboard voltage translator. It includes configurable I2C addresses and provides two connector options, allowing for the stacking of multiple I2C modules. Development resources and manuals are available for various platforms such as Raspberry Pi, micro:bit, Arduino, and STM32.
