The Waveshare SIM7670G Global Multi-Band LTE 4G Cat-1/GNSS HAT for Raspberry Pi is a versatile communication module that facilitates LTE Cat-1 connectivity and supports a variety of wireless communication modes such as LTE-TDD and LTE-FDD. This module is capable of achieving a downlink rate of up to 10 Mbps and an uplink rate of up to 5 Mbps. It is compatible with Windows and Linux operating systems and can handle multiple network protocols.
The SIM7670G module is designed to be interchangeable with the SIM7000 / SIM7070 / A7670E series, and its AT commands are largely compatible with the SIM800 series, making it an ideal choice for Internet of Things (IoT) applications including remote information processing, monitoring devices, industrial routers, and remote diagnosis. Additionally, it offers satellite positioning capabilities.
This module features a standard Raspberry Pi 40-Pin GPIO extension header, making it compatible with Raspberry Pi series boards. It supports a range of protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP(s), MQTT(s), FTP(s), and SSL, and offers various dial-up options such as RNDIS, NDIS, and ECM. The module is equipped with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou for comprehensive positioning. It includes onboard USB Type-A and Type-C interfaces for testing AT Commands and network communication. There are also three additional USB 2.0 Type-A ports for connecting host devices.
The SIM7670G module provides reserved control pads for UART and USB pins, which facilitate easy connections with other host boards. A SIM card slot is present, supporting 1.8V/3V SIM cards. The module's operation and USB connection status can be monitored via six LED indicators. Development resources and a manual are available, offering examples of integration with Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, and STM32 platforms.
