An interesting project for a rainy day

The kit comes with a good instructions and all components labelled, so a motivated beginner can work on it. Soldering and testing is straight forward, but some experience / knowledge of electronics and soldering are certainly beneficial.

It works!

Great lockdown challenge for my grandson. Straightforward assembly instructions and detailed explanation of how the radio works and what the components do. It worked first power up and sounds okay. Excellent value.

Good kit, but not for beginners!

This kit provides a good little FM radio, but owing to the need for component selection it could be difficult for beginners. Also, the high temperature solder makes the job much more difficult than would have been the case when old-fashioned 60/40 was available. It is very important to have a suitable soldering iron and perhaps an experienced operator on hand to offer advice. The instructions are pretty good although some of the technical descriptions are much more detailed than any beginner would be able to comprehend. Again, the advice of an experienced technician would be helpful. There is no box in the kit and if you were to want to use the Radio long term then this would be a useful option. Finally, do check that there are multiple FM radio stations in your vicinity as they are becoming less common as time goes by. There is a web site that gives info for the whole of Europe.
