The Parallax Prop Plug USB to Serial Converter provide a USB-to-serial port connection, which is convenient for microcontroller programming and communication. These tiny devices are capable of asynchronous communication at up to 3 M baud with both 3.3-volt and 5.0-volt devices such as the Propeller and BASIC Stamp. The Prop Plug slips onto a 4-pin, 0.1" spaced header, allowing both PCB's and breadboards to provide in-circuit programming capability. Use the Prop Clip if programming with fewer components via a PCB edge connector is desired.

I purchased this prop plug programmer because my e682 RGB light controller did not update the firmware correctly and I could not gain access to it after using the prop plug plugged in the USB using the prop plug program and hit upload and now my lighting controller is working thanks robot shop

Great product works well
Discovered this as part of a Basic Stamp 2 OEM article. Allows downloading and debugging without bulky RS232 connectors, and adapters when used with PCs that do not even have RS232 connectors. Driver download from Parallax works fine on Win XP, 7 and 10. No problems so far. I have purchased 3 of them.
