The 14M2 is my favourite microprocessor for relatively simple applications. The program memory can hold hundreds of lines of code, and there is data memory for lots of variables. It is reasonably fast for mechanical and electrical control applications. My current project is to run a stepper motor for an automatic antenna tuner. Also get the project board kit to make circuit interfacing easy.
