The PiShop Navio2 Autopilot HAT for Raspberry Pi powered by ArduPilot & ROS transforms a Raspberry Pi into a sophisticated drone controller, leveraging an array of onboard sensors and controllers. This device is equipped with a GNSS receiver capable of tracking multiple satellite systems, including GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo, and SBAS, ensuring precise navigation and positioning. An external antenna with an MCX connector enhances its satellite tracking capabilities.
The Navio2 features a robust RC I/O co-processor that accepts PPM/SBUS input and provides 14 PWM output channels, facilitating the control of motors and servos. It includes dual IMUs, which incorporate accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers, to deliver accurate orientation and motion sensing. The device is designed with a triple redundant power supply system, offering overvoltage protection and a power module port for voltage and current sensing.
For enhanced functionality, the Navio2 offers extension ports with exposed ADC, I2C, and UART interfaces, allowing for the integration of additional sensors and radios. A high-resolution barometer is included to measure altitude with a precision of 10 cm. The device comes with a preconfigured OS image, featuring Raspbian with ArduPilot and ROS preinstalled, ready to operate with minimal setup. Additional software such as DroneKit and GStreamer is also included to expand its capabilities.
