The Pololu D42V55F5.3 5.3V, 6A Step-Down Voltage Regulator is engineered to efficiently convert higher input voltages, up to 60V, to a stable 5.3V output. This device is a type of switched-mode power supply, also known as a DC-to-DC converter, which is particularly effective when there is a significant difference between the input and output voltages.
The regulator is equipped with several protective features to ensure reliable operation. It includes input reverse voltage protection, which safeguards the device from damage due to incorrect input polarity. Additionally, it has over-current protection to prevent excessive current flow, and a thermal shutdown feature to protect against overheating. The soft-start feature is designed to limit inrush current, thereby reducing the risk of damage during power-up.
This regulator also offers an optional enable input for entering a low-power state, making it suitable for energy-efficient applications. The power-good output facilitates sequencing, fault detection, and voltage monitoring, enhancing its utility in complex systems.
Note: Ensure proper handling to avoid exposure to high voltages and currents that may pose safety risks.
Six connections arranged on a 0.1″ grid for compatibility with solderless breadboards, 0.1″ male headers, and 0.1″ female headers.
