Offers fully reversible H-bridge channel
Features failsafe mechanism for safety
Provides calibration function with EEPROM
The Robot Power Vyper 120A DC Motor Single Channel R/C & Analog Motor Controller 120A, 7-36V is a versatile and high-performance motor controller designed for medium to large mobile robots, including firefighting robots, sumo robots, and robotic combat applications. It is capable of handling robots weighing up to 500 pounds, provided the motor current limits are adhered to. Additionally, the Vyper is suitable for manually controlled applications such as scooters, boats, and winches, as well as non-robotic uses like controlling lights, hydraulic valves, and pumps.
This motor controller supports a continuous current of 120A and can handle peak currents exceeding 250A. It operates within a battery voltage range of 7.0V to 36V and includes over-temperature protection to ensure safe operation. The Vyper features input pin headers for RC input or analog voltage control, offering a fully reversible H-bridge channel. It also includes limit switch inputs and indicator LEDs for speed and direction, along with a status/error LED to display control signal status and error conditions.
The Vyper offers a failsafe mechanism that shuts off the motor if the control signal is lost, enhancing safety during operation. It includes a calibration function to match the controller to the radio or analog pot source, with settings stored in EEPROM for permanent retention. The built-in switching style 5V regulator (BEC function) eliminates battery voltage concerns and provides increased current on the 5V rail for modern 2.4GHz radio receivers, with the option to disable the BEC.
In RC mode, users can toggle the BEC on or off, choose between brake or coast at zero speed, and activate or deactivate the Lipo battery cut-off feature. In pot mode, users can select between forward only or forward/reverse control and enable or disable SafeStart, which requires the control to be set to zero speed to start.
Note: Ensure proper handling of lithium batteries to prevent damage from over-discharge by utilizing the Lipo cut-off feature.

It is easy to control and program. I use it on a truck carrying heavy equipment with a potentiometer 0-5K (electric bike). The configuration and schematic instructions provided are clear.

Vyper 120A
I am using this motor controller with a 24V geared motor to drive the feed and carriage return on a homebuilt band sawmill. Initial hookup and programing was interesting to say the least as we are using a potentiometer to control forward and reverse speed. The instructions for setting up the programing using the DIP switch were somewhat confusing for this manual control approach and it took quite awhile of trial & error to get the switched in a configuration that worked. Once configured the unit works great but instruction sheet could be greatly improved.

Vyper 120
Use this module on a sawmill feed carriage, works real good !! I had originally chosen an other type with more features and cheaper but was not available so I went with the Vyper 120. Instructions sheet could have more details but RobotPower answered all my questions same day.

Refund Policy
If you are not satisfied with a product purchased from the Site, you may request a return within 30 days from the delivery date, unless the product is listed under the Return Exceptions below or is subject to specific return conditions noted on the product page.
Returns under this policy concern non-defective products. In the case of a confirmed manufacturing defect, remedies are handled under the Warranty terms, at RoboItchi's discretion. See the Warranty section.
Return Conditions
To qualify for a refund under the 30-day return policy, all of the following conditions must be met:
A valid Return Authorization (RA) number must be obtained prior to returning the product. Returns without an RA number will be refused.
The RA number is valid for 30 days. The returned item must be received within that period.
The RA number must be included with the return.
Products must be returned in unused, unmodified condition (e.g., no scratches, alterations, missing parts, or signs of installation/use) and in their original packaging, suitable for resale.
Shipping fees are non-refundable. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, except in cases of a product confirmed defective through RoboItchi's troubleshooting process or of a verified shipping error by RoboItchi.
Refunds are processed within 7 days after receipt and inspection of the returned item.
A ¥10,000 cleaning fee may apply to domestic robots returned in used or unclean condition.
A 20% restocking fee may apply to large-quantity returns of items ordered specifically for the customer from the manufacturer or not part of RoboItchi's standard inventory.
