Center pin will have a voltage that varies from 0 to VCC depending on the rotation of the pot
The Rotary Potentiometer - 10k Ohm can open up many interesting user interfaces. Connect VCC to an outer pin, GND to the other, and the center pin will have a voltage that varies from 0 to VCC depending on the rotation of the pot. Hook the center pin to an ADC on a microcontroller and get a variable input from the user.
Then small dia. make it easy to save room on a control panel. Space is everything.

Small, solid and reliable
I've used these for many Arduino and Teensy projects, mainly as input to ADCs. They're smaller than your average pot and will fit where space is limited.

Highly reccomended
Great little potentiometer. Works great (especially for music related purposes such as midi control).
