The Sherline Individual Milling Collet – 5/32" - 5/32 is engineered for use with the Morse #1 internal taper, a standard feature on both the Sherline lathe and vertical mill. This design allows for a superior clamping force compared to WW collets, making it ideal for securely holding miniature size end mills, center drills, and Dremel® bits. The collet is particularly effective for tools with shank sizes of 3/16" or 1/4", as well as #1 and smaller center drills, and 1/8" shank Dremel® bits. It is essential that the cutting tools used with this collet have a shank size within .001" of the specified size to ensure optimal performance. The shallow angle of the Morse #1 taper necessitates backing off the drawbolt a few revolutions and tapping it to release the collet from the spindle.
