Sherline Zero Adjustable Handwheel 2.5" Y Axis (Metric)
Offers zero-reset feature for precision
Installs easily with single set screw
Enhances efficiency and reduces errors
Includes special Z-axis handwheel
Available in inch and metric versions
The Sherline Zero Adjustable Handwheel 2.5" Y Axis (Metric) offers machinists the capability to reset the handwheel to "zero" or any desired setting during machining operations. This feature, commonly found in full-size machine tools, is now available for Sherline's miniature machine tools. The handwheel is easily installed by releasing a single set screw, and its operation is straightforward. By releasing the black locking nut and adjusting the red handwheel collar to "zero," users can precisely control the feed amount without complex calculations, enhancing efficiency and reducing errors.
This handwheel is designed to replace standard 1⅝” handwheels with a larger 2½” version, although it is not recommended for simultaneous use on both the lathe leadscrew and tailstock due to potential interference. It is suitable for other applications and is available in both inch and metric versions. A special 2½” diameter handwheel is also available for the Z-axis of the mill or vertical milling column, featuring a ball thrust bearing set to alleviate stress from the vertical lifting action, a feature absent in other horizontal axes.
The engraved numbers on the collars are oriented for optimal readability depending on the axis of installation. This ensures that the handwheel's functionality is maintained across different machine configurations.
1x Sherline Zero Adjustable Handwheel 2.5" Y Axis (Metric)
All standard 1⅝” handwheels can be replaced with 2″ adjustable handwheels
Larger 2½” handwheels are not recommended for use on both the lathe leadscrew and tailstock together as they will interfere with one another but can be used elsewhere
Both inch and metric versions are available
A special 2½” diameter handwheel is available for the Z-axis of the mill or vertical milling column
Newer machines come with this special 2½” handwheel, which has a ball thrust bearing set to relieve the stress caused by the lifting action of the vertical Z-axis
Older machines can be upgraded to use the new ball bearing set when acquiring the resettable handwheel
