Enables wireless Arduino projects
Supports LTE-M/NB-IoT & RR Pro
Features USB-C & Qwiic connectors
Integrates Digi TrustFence security
Compatible with I2C sensors
The SparkFun Digi XBee Arduino Shield, USB-C (Qwiic) serves as a bridge to the realm of wireless technology for Arduino enthusiasts. This shield is compatible with Digis advanced XBee 3 Low-Power LTE-M/NB-IoT and Digi XBee RR Pro modules, as well as any through-hole Digi XBee module, allowing for the creation of extensive wireless projects. The device is designed to cater to both experienced developers and those new to the Internet of Things (IoT), facilitating the realization of innovative IoT concepts.
The shield extends the capabilities of the XBee module by providing a cellular network and GNSS connectivity. It features a USB-C connector and a Qwiic connector to facilitate easy integration with I2C sensors. Additionally, it includes a Reset button, a user-defined D0 button, and the option to power the board from the R3/R4 board, along with UART selection. The Digi Remote Manager offers a centralized platform for easy device configuration and control, while the built-in Digi TrustFence ensures robust security through multiple layers of protection against cyber threats. The shield supports standard XBee API frames and AT commands, MicroPython, and Digi XCTU for straightforward setup and functionality adjustments.
The shield comes equipped with all necessary components, though it does not include headers. The SparkFun Qwiic Connect System, part of the shields design, streamlines prototyping with its ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables, featuring a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector that minimizes PCB space and prevents connection errors due to its polarized design.
