The STMicro STSPIN220 Low-Voltage Stepper Motor Driver Carrier is an advanced breakout board designed for precision control of bipolar stepper motors. Featuring microstepping capabilities down to 1/256-step, this module operates efficiently within a voltage range of 1.8 V to 10 V, making it suitable for applications where conventional drivers fall short. It delivers up to 1 A per phase continuously without the need for a heat sink or forced air flow, with a peak capacity of up to 1.3 A. The module is engineered with a pinout and interface closely resembling that of the A4988 carriers, enabling seamless integration as a drop-in replacement in various systems. Key features include over-temperature thermal shutdown, over-current shutdown, and short circuit protection, ensuring robust performance. Constructed on a 4-layer, 2 oz copper PCB, it offers enhanced heat dissipation, complemented by an exposed solderable ground pad beneath the driver IC. The module measures 3x3 mm and includes one 1×16-pin breakaway 0.1″ male header for connectivity.
